To drive forward the internalisation strategy of Kempten University of Applied Sciences, our Language Centre is further expanding its range of services to set up a Centre for Writing and Communication as a DAAD-funded project.

This includes appointing the following position starting 1 January 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter:

English Language Coach
for administrative, teaching and research staff

Your tasks:

  • Designing and running professional development courses and advising on improving written and oral English communication skills (Level B2-C2) for administrative, teaching and research staff
  • Selecting and/or developing suitable teaching/learning materials and guides (analogue and digital)
  • Developing a concept for an appropriate range of courses according to needs, combining face-to-face, blended and online classes for small groups and individuals
  • Proofing English texts used in teaching (e.g. lecture notes) and research (particularly submissions for publication, funding applications); whereas a dedicated translation service already exists

Your profile:

  • University graduate (master’s degree or equivalent) in languages (ideally TEFL)
  • Native-level English, German at least Level B2
  • Advanced knowledge of state-of-the-art language-teaching didactics and methods (including blended learning and online formats)
  • Experience in communications coaching (written/oral)
  • Experience in proofing English texts
  • Proficient in data processing programs (MS Office, eLearning tools, learning management 
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ideally, evidence of current/planned academic publications and/or lecturing
