To drive forward the internalisation strategy of Kempten University of Applied Sciences, our Language Centre is further expanding its range of services to set up a Centre for Writing and Communication as a DAAD-funded project.

This includes appointing the following position starting 1 January 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter:

Lecturer in English Language

Your tasks:

  • Teaching and guidance in written and/or oral communication in English at Level B2-C2 for students on all degree programmes
  • (Collaborative) design and implementation of different course formats (modules, supportive measures for modules, workshops, independent study, guidance) for both specific degree programmes and interdisciplinary groups and individuals
  • (Collaborative) selection and/or development of suitable teaching/learning materials (analogue and digital)
  • (Collaborative) development of a concept for an appropriate range of courses according to needs, combining face-to-face, blended and online classes

Your profile:

  • University graduate (master’s degree or equivalent) in languages (ideally TEFL), ideally doctorate
  • Native-level English, German at least Level B2
  • Advanced knowledge of state-of-the-art language-teaching didactics and methods (including blended learning and online formats) and experience in implementing CEFR
  • Experience in teaching English in higher education (language levels B2-C2), ideally in a writing/communication centre or advice service
  • Skilled and experienced in using eLearning tools and learning management systems (ideally Moodle) and proficient in using data processing programs
  • Initiative and thirst for innovation in language teaching (e.g. teaching, learning, assessment methods, approaches)
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ideally, evidence of current/planned publications and/or lecturing
  • Ideally, additional qualifications in teaching foreign languages (CELTA, DELTA)
